Cloverleaf Dog Track

Cloverleaf Kennel Club opened in 1955 and had racing up until 2007 when they ceased racing operations. It ceased operations in 2007 ,and was demolished in 2012. 

Cloverleaf - another gone but not forgotten location of my youth. Used to sneak in before I was even 18, and spent many evenings betting on the dogs, hanging out with friends, maybe sneaking a few underage adult beverages.

I remember running to Al's News Stand from Poudre on break to get the nightly racing form. If BNB's Contessa was running, we were there. Was a great dog, got close but never managed to elapse the track record held for many years by JW Rocket One!

With dog racing illegal in 44 states now, it is definitely a thing of the past that wont be around for long, and probably for the best. But, damn was it a lot of fun and I made some good money at it in my late teens and 20's.
